A former warehouse building that once housed floral suppliers on Chicago’s Randolph Street was transformed into a mixed-use development with upscale apartment units and ground-level retail space. Influenced by the building’s cast-in-place exterior decorative elements, such as pilasters resembling palm trees, HPA melded industrial chic and floral motifs in the design of common areas and amenity spaces.

The historic lobby was rehabilitated to preserve the existing plaster details and decorative borders. An earth tone color palette, Art Nouveau-inspired wall coverings, and natural shapes complement the original architecture.
