Focal Point, a nationally recognized lighting company, engaged HPA to design their new 34,000 s.f. corporate headquarters and design center. HPA provided full architectural and interior design services from the outside in. The renovation begins at the front door with a new canopy, windows, lighting, signage and landscaping in order to create an updated and inviting image for the company. Inside, special attention was paid to the circulating work and space plans, creating generous workspaces that comply with ANSI standards for ADA accessibility. To establish sustainability, new skylights were designed for each department to improve day lighting. HPA also creatively used green materials throughout such as bamboo, cork and recycled glass throughout the space, defining the unique Focal Point brand with innovative lighting technologies for the new and recycled workstations.
The result of this renovation is a dramatic, visually interesting, cohesive design which is comfortable for employees and exciting for customers. The sustainable design project achieved a USGBC LEED Silver Rating and is the recipient of several sustainability related design awards. Equally important, this project was completed under budget.
