Constructed in 1991 on a site overlooking the Chicago River, the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel is a 27-story tower with 553 keys, meeting space, retail space, an outdoor terrace, restaurant and lounge.

The property underwent significant renovation with the hotel remaining operational through the duration. Guestrooms were refreshed with new furnishings, fixtures and finishes. The existing lobby was transformed into an open and airy urban concept, with relaxed lounge seating, reception pods and indoor and outdoor dining. A new roof structure and glass canopy shelters an enlargened roof terrace with outdoor seating and dining.

HPA worked in close collaboration with the project’s interior designer to ensure the realization of a well coordinated and unified design scheme.
