On a 50-acre site that was once a former steel-processing plant on Chicago’s Southwest Side, Cinespace Film Studios has been converting old factory buildings into soundstages and production facilities for film, TV and video productions.

With a vision of becoming one of the largest studio complexes in the world, Cinespace is planning to create the only back lot east of Hollywood. On closed off streets within the property, existing buildings will be transformed into vignettes resembling New York brownstone, London rowhouses, and Chinatown.
